Composers : Understand what the "Creative Commons -By" really implies

Little explanation to understand what the use of Creative Commons -By implies, we hope it is clear and will help you avoid unpleasant surprise because "you didn't read this licence very carrefully".

This licence give everyone the following rights on the tracks you publish here (and only these published tracks) :
- diffusion
- reproduction
- modification
- adaptation
- synchronization
- publication
- commercial use

And it also constraint people using or copying the work to mention clearly :
- the title of the work
- the author of the work
- the original licence of the work (here CC -By)

That means : Yes some of your tracks might be used for commercial purpose. It one of the principle of the Hiphop domain, we want these tracks to be free for all use. So if a slam poet has the chance to record something containing some HHD tracks and sell it, he is clear to do it, as long as he respect the licencing agreement.

This is the public domain purpose.

However it still remains in many intellectual propertie laws, a part of the author rights that is not covered by these licences : the moral right.
It allows one to have some control over uses of your work that you may find offending for you reputation or honnor. These rights allows author to ask the justice the widthrawal of your name from a derivated work, or ultimately osk the offender to remove the work entirely.
These are legal procedure that takes time, but it exists and may be helpfull in some (still rare) cases.

As far as the law is concern, you are the unique owner of your works. With the CC -By licence you give people a lot of rights to use your music, but you are still the only decider over your work.
